Embracing a global outlook and international ambiance, HKUST welcomes foreign students from any corner of the globe to study in Hong Kong. Students from geographical origins other than Hong Kong and holding international or non-DSE qualifications are usually termed as international, non-local, Mainland China, Mainland JEE, non-JUPAS and/or non-local degree seeking students.

Welcome all international and mainland JEE students. Hope you have a smooth transition and feel at home at HKUST and Hong Kong. The checklist should help you identify useful and important activities to kick start your university study and life here.

Registration, Collection of Student Card and Hall Check-in 

Jul - Aug  

  1. Refer to email notifications for Program Registration and Collection of Student Card 
  2. Activate your HKUST network/ ITSC account and myemail @connect.ust.hk (important information and notifications from different units will be sent to this email account)
  3. Apply Student Accommodation & Join First-Year Experience (FYE) @Residence Program​​​​​​​

Aug 19  Check-in @Student Residence Hall (10:00 onwards)

Aug 19-21  Airport Pick-up Service

Aug 20-21  Program Registration and Collection of Student Card in person (refer to the email notification)

Academic Advising and Peer Mentoring#

Attend Academic Advising and Peer Mentoring Activities  (these sessions are very useful and critical for your class pre-enrolment; refer also to respective Schools' orientation information, SBM, SSCI, SENG, SHSS, IPO & individual email notifications for details; absence from these sessions may affect your study progress)
