Local Students (other qualifications)


There are local Hong Kong students holding subdegree and/or international qualifications such as IB. Though they are usually regarded as local students, for some specific induction and orientation activities, they are specified as local students with international qualificationsdirect-entry or senior-entry, etc.

Registration and Identification

Jul - Aug

  1. Program Registration and Collection of Student Card in person (refer to the email notification)
  2. Activate your HKUST network/ ITSC account and myemail @connect.ust.hk (refer to email notifications)
  3. Access and check your HKUST email (@connect.ust.hk) at http://O365.ust.hk or myPortal (important information and notifications from different units will be sent to this email account)
Academic Advising and Peer Mentoring#

Jul 15 - Aug 29  ^Attend Academic Advising & Peer Mentoring sessions (these sessions are very useful and critical for your class pre-enrolment; refer also to respective Schools' orientation information, SBM, SSCI, SENG, SHSS, IPO & individual email notifications for details; absence from these sessions may affect your study progress)

Class Enrollment (Fall term of 2017/18)

Aug 14-20 Subsequent to academic advising sessions, ARR would arranage class pre-enrollment for students to required courses approved by Schools. (Students must attend the academic advising and peer mentoring sessions as specified by respective Schools, SBM, SSCI, SENG, SHSS, IPO in Jul and Aug.)

Aug 22 onwards  Check Class pre-enrollment results via "Student Centre" in myPortal

Aug 25  Enroll first term classes via myPortal

Sep 1-14  Add/ Drop Classes via myPortal

HLTH1010 Required Activities

Aug 28-29  *Attend Fitness Training

Sep 8-10  *Attend Health and Fitness Assessments

Sep 14-15 *Attend a Sports Skill Class 

Sep 18-29  Complete the online Student Intake and Wellness Survey
